compression:

TAR -ZCF After compression file name .tar.gz is compressed file .doc

-c is a new file; -f is output to the default device, you can use it as a must add option, and -z is the compression function of borrowing Gzip (compression program).

Unzip:

TAR -ZXVF compressed file .tar.gz

-v, that is, packaging and compression or decompression process, -x is unproof
