Linuxaid.com.cn site latest information: In less than a month after IBM captured the fastest supercofes, NEC started building a more fast and powerful computer system, and striving to take the position of the name. It is expected that NEC's new system will be put into use in December.
The fastest computing capacity of the computer system of the code SX-8 introduced by NEC is 65T per second. This is confirmed by the NEC's spokesperson susumu sakamoto. Such computing capabilities is almost twice that of IBM's September BLUE Gene supercomputer's maximum calculation capacity. The latter can perform 36T calculation per second.
