You first need to create a series of necessary directories before setting up the Serv-U. Now establish these directories in the root directory of the E-plate, the specific explanations of each directory are as follows:
1. "Public" directory: used for administrators to place public download files, each user can be seen, and its FTP client will appear in "public file" (path "/ public file"), ordinary FTP users have only Reading rights, the administrator has full permissions to it.
2. "FreeFile" directory: For each FTP user to place files that need to exchange each other, each user can be seen that at the FTP client will appear in the "Free Directory" name (path is "/ free directory"), ordinary FTP user pair It has full permissions.
3. "Personal" directory: It will be used to place private file directories for each FTP user.
4. Other directories: All FTP users have a private file directory, which is built under "Personal", all as a username (English character) as a directory name (such as "E: / Personal / Laohu"), is these users log in The subsequent "virtual root directory" (path is "/"). (Figure 1)
Second, SERV-U settings
1. Create a new site
(1) Make sure Serv-U 4.0.4 is installed, then select "Start → Serv-U FTP Server → Serv-U Administrator" to open the SERV-U manager.
(2) Create a site according to the wizard, its "domain name" is "public_files", select "NO" at "Allow Anonymous Access", and select "NO" and in "CREATE NAMED Account". Establish a common account) Select "Yes", "Account Login Name" is "HAIPAI", "HOME DIRECTORY" is "HOME DIRECTORY", "E: / Personal / Nanshan", "Password" To "555", "YES" is selected in "Lock User In Home Directory".
2. Create a new group
Open the "Local Server → Domains → PUBLIC_FILES" on the left window of the Serv-U Manager, then right-click on "Groups", select "New Group", will "Group Name" Enter "allusers" and go to the "Dir Access" window, "Add", "E: / FreeFile" directory, make this group full permissions; "Good" The e: / public "directory makes this group to have read-only privileges (Figure 2).
3. New virtual directory
(1) In "Settings" under "public_files", make sure to press the "Add" button in "Virtual Path Mappings" in "Virtual Path Mappings", in "Physical" Path "E: / FreeFile", enter "E: / Personal /% User%" in "Map Physical Path To" (map Path to), and "MAP PATH NAME" (virtual The "Free Directory" is entered at the directory name. 4. Set "model" user

Here, manually add a "E: / Personal / Nanshan" directory and give full permissions; finally select "Apply" in the "User" menu to save the modification (Figure 4) .
5. Copy other users
On the "Nanshan" username, click "Copy Users", copy it enough to copy it, and then change it to the corresponding content. For all new users, the places that need to be modified: For example, in "Account", "User Name" is changed to the new user name "Laohu", and "Home Directory" is changed to "E: / Personal / Laohu"; In "Dir Access", it will change the original "E: / Personal / Nanshan" to "E: / Personal / Laohu". When all users modify, select "Apply" in the "User" menu to save the settings. These users will have their own private directory, the same initial password, etc.
6. Establish an administrator
Create a normal user, it does not belong to any group, whose home directory is "e: / public" and has full permissions to this directory. Then use it to log in to modify the contents of the "Public File".
Third, the client's use
1. User login
After logging in with any of the user names set in Cuteft, you can enter your own unique private root directory, and you can see two virtual directories of "public files" and "Free Directory" and have the three directories. Corresponding authority (Figure 5).
2. Other operations
(1) In order to avoid the exchange directory being accidentally deleted, click Right-click on "E: / FreeFile", select "Properties", then check the "Read-only" item and press "OK" button to save exit. (2) The client wants to change the password, can log in to FTP under DOS, then use the "Quote Site PSWD old password new password" to complete (there is at least 4 digits); of course, you can also use the FTP client software.
