1. Create a text file on the disk.
2. Change the name of the text file and change the extension to UDL.
3. Double-click the UDL file to open the Data Link Properties dialog.
4. Select the provider you want to use and set to set the appropriate properties to connect to the data.
5. Turn off the Data Link Properties dialog.
6. Open the UDL file in Notepad, you will see a full connection string of the selected provider.
