Dr. James Rumbau is a global software development methodologist. He has developed a unified model language (Object Management Group, OMG) in 1997, with Grady Booch and Ivar Jacobson, Object Management Group, OMG. Jim has always guided the leader of the UML future development, and he proposed a lot of concepts about UML. He works with other software leaders of Rational in various fields, such as the Rational Unified Process and Real-Time Development Methodology. Since IBM acquired Rational, 2003, JIM has been committed to promoting the development of IBM modeling tools.
Jim has been studying software, tools, and concepts more than 35 years. He is the chief developer of object modeling technology (OMT), OMT is a first-class object-oriented analysis and design method, but also the predecessor of UML. Prior to joining Rational Software in 1994, Jim has worked for more than 25 years in the General Electric R & D center in Stana Tak, New York. It is there, he developed DSM object-oriented programming language, status control tree model, Omt object modeling concept, and object modeling tool (Object Modeling Tool) graphic editor. I used to study various applications, such as the VLSI CAD system, universal electrical initial X-ray fault scanner algorithm, and one of the earliest time-time operating systems.
Under the guidance of Professor Jack Dennis, Massachusetts Institute, JIM is one of the inventors of the data stream computer architecture during the doctoral degree. He has studied in many calculations, including computational semantics, programming productivity tools, and applications using complex algorithms and data structures. He has been committed to seeking more effective ways to develop and maintain large software systems in an increasingly complex environment.
JIM has a bachelor's degree from MIT, a master's degree in astronomical in California, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science in MIT.
