The principle is a machine that will connect to the external network as a gateway:
1. The machine IP connected to the external network is set to 192.168.0.1, and the IP and DNS of other machines are set to automatic acquisition.
192.168.0.1 seems to be the default as a gateway, no IP, automatically look for the IP 192.168.0.1, and apply for IP.
Benefits, LAN internal machines do not need to care about IP settings and gateway settings,
Disadvantages, the initial state is not IP, it takes a certain time to find 192.168.0.1 machine, apply for IP
2. The machine IP connected to the external network is set to 192.168.AAA.BBB, and the IP of other machines is set to 192.168.aaa.xxx,
Gateway and DNS are set up to machine IPs connected to external networks,
Benefits, the internal IP of the local area network is fixed, and each other can be accessed by fixed IP.
The above conclusions have no scientific basis, under WinXP, the phenomenon shows
