Red Hat Launches Linux Enterprise Operating System Test Edition

[CCID News] Open source code software vendor Red Hat announced this Monday to introduce the beta test version of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 4 of Nahant.

This is also the first public beta test version of Red Hat's new generation of enterprise Linux operating system, and the first Linux 2.6 kernel RHEL. RHEL 4β version is a new generation of enterprise desktops, server operating systems for Red Hat.

For developers, it integrates GCC 3.4.1 and GNU LiBC 2.3.3. Red Hat will track the defects in RHEL 4β by its bugzilla system.

RHEL 4β version supports most Red Hat hardware platforms, including 32-bit X86 architecture, 64-bit AMD64 and EM64T, Andten 2. It also supports IBM's 64-bit EServer Iseries, PSeries, Power, and IBM S / 390, Eserver Zseries Series large hosts.
