Studies have found that few companies plan to use Linux in desktop computers, and companies will continue to use Windows as a desktop operating system. The report believes that Linux does not have a serious threat to Microsoft's dominance in desktop computers. According to the survey, half of the small businesses and 47% of large businesses they will not replace the Windows-based enterprise desktop computer with Linux systems.
The survey also found that although people who use Linux wish to save a lot of hardware and software expenses, they are worried that people who have been investigated, and the cost savings is not enough to ensure the implementation platform transformation strategy. Analysts say that in order to enhance the rationality of Linux applications, there must be a large number of commercial applications that can be used for Linux platforms, and open source software must have equivalent functions with Microsoft's office applications, and even greater extent.
