Everyone knows that the addition / deletion of WinXP family version is not found to be found in the Internet service (many new brand machines are preloaded by WinXP home version), which can be difficulties, if we want to make Web development, such as debugging ASP, PHP and other programs, how to do IIS, is it really reinstalled to the operating system or upgrade to WinXP professional version? In fact, we can make IIS in WinXP home versions in WinXP family, I want to know how to do it? FOLLOW ME !!!

Ready to work:

1, Windows XP Home Chinese version CD (can also be on the hard disk)

2, Windows 2000 Advanced Server CD or Windows 2000 Professional CD (It is also also Chinese version)

3, suppose your WinXP professional is installed under C: / Windows

The following is a specific steps:

Use Notepad to open C: /Windows/inf/sysoc.inf (before removal of hidden and remove the property of hidden protection system files, you should do it if you have step, you should find it. One line:

IIS = Iis.dll, Oceentry, Iis.inf, Hide, 7

Then change it to

IIS = Iis2.dll, Oceentry, Iis2.inf ,, 7

save.

Then copy the two files IIS.DL_ and IIS.in_ of the Windows 2000 Advanced Server CD (omitted) to a temporary directory (for example, C: /), then at the command prompt ( Start - run - CMD) Status to turn the current directory to C: /, execute:

Expand Iis.dl_ Iis2.dll

Expand Iis.in_ Iis2.inf

Solve the IIS2.DLL and IIS2.inf two files, copy Iis2.inf to the C: / Windows / INF directory, copy Iis2.dll to the C: / Windows / System32 / Setup directory.

Press "Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Add / Remove Windows Components", then you can really find that IIS appears!

Since then, the process is similar to the Professional version of XP installation IIS, and you will ask you to select the location of the Windows 2000 Advanced Server CD and the Windows XP Home Edition CD, enter the specified directory (ie the I386 directory where the disc is located, such as f: / I386, here it is assumed that the optical drive is f) to be installed.

After installation, you will need some settings to IIS to use it normally:

Click - Click on the Control Panel -> Administrator -> Internet Service Manager '

Then click "Default Web Site", go to "Directory Security" tab, click "Anonymous Access and Verification Control" "Edit" button, rebound anonymous method new window, then click "Anonymous Access" The Edit button, remove the "Allow IIS Control Password" and then determine the return until it will be returned.

^ - ^ Try it. After the above operation, the familiar IIS is back, and the web program is running again. Goodbye!
