Linux software vendor Lycoris has released "PowerPak 1.4" software. This software allows the desktop Linux operating system to run Windows applications more easily without having to pay license fees.

Lycoris signed a transaction with the software developer CodeWeavers this year, Lycoris, integrated the company's "Window-to-Linux" software into Lycoris's Linux desktop software.

CodeWeavers Chief Document Jon Parheater said on Thursday (August 19), this integrated software allows Windows users to easily run Windows applications on the Linux platform, and saves spending of licenses.

Parhell said that unlike other simulated solutions, our system does not need a full license Windows operating system. This system deceives Microsoft applications make those applications to operate on a Windows computer.

Parhell said this system will make home users and small businesses easier transition to Linux because they can continue to use Microsoft's Word and Excel and other applications. He said that because the CodeWeaver application has integrated into the Lycoris file system, the speed of Windows applications is as fast as the original.

Red Monk's software analyst James Gopener believes that combined with CodeWeaver's software and Lycoris is a big step forward. However, since this software has no other Linux software, it may be very attractive to linux software.

Lycoris PowerPak 1.4 software is priced at $ 75 and can be purchased from Lycoris's website.
