RFC866 activity user
(RFC866 Active Users)
This RFC specifies the standards on ARPA Internet Community. All hosts on the ARPA Internet should adopt and implement this standard.
A useful measurement and debugging tool is an active user service that returns all current user lists. The current user is a user logged in, and can be listed with SYSTAT or WHO.
* Active user service based on TCP
Active user service can be defined as a TCP-based connection application. The server listened to the TCP connection in the port 11. Once the connection is established, the current user list is returned to the connection user. The received information will be discarded. After transferring the list, the connection will turn off.
* UDP-based activity user service
It is also possible if you use UDP. The port is also 11, and after this port is received, the data report for the current active activity user list will be returned. If the list is not installed in a datagram, you can send a number, but you cannot transfer one user's information in two datagrams. The recipient should wait for a while to reach all the data reports, and there is no requirement to reach the order.
* User list syntax
There is no provision for the list of users, it is best to use ASCII printed characters, spaces, carriage return, and wraps. Each user takes up a row.
