RFC865 references DAY protocol
(RFC865-Quote of The Day Protocol)
This RFC specifies the standards on ARPA Internet Community. All hosts on the ARPA Internet should adopt and implement this standard.
A useful debugging and detection tool is to reference the DAY service. This service is just simply sent back to one end message regardless of the input.
* Character generator service based on TCP
You can let the service based on TCP, port 17. After the connection is established, a short message will be transferred by this port to the connector, and turn off the connection after transfer. The received information is abandoned.
* UD-based character generator service
Of course, this service can also be based on the UDP protocol, the port number is also 17, where the datagram includes a reference, which is a short message.
* Quote Syntax DA
There is no specified grammar, it is recommended to use ASCII print characters, spaces, carriage return, and wrap. The reference can be a row or a few lines, but should not be greater than 512 bytes.
