RFC 863 Abandon Agreement
(RFC 863 Discard Protocol)
This RFC specifies the standards on ARPA Internet Community. All hosts on the ARPA Internet should adopt and implement this standard.
Abandoning (Discard) is a very useful tool for debugging and detecting. The role of this agreement is also very simple, and what is abandoned.
Abandoning service based on TCP protocol
There is an abandoned service being defined as a connection-oriented application on the TCP protocol. The server detects that there is no message on the TCP port 9. If there is a message sent, it is directly abandoned. Do not make a response. This process continues until the client ends this connection.
Abandoning service based on UDP protocol
Another abandon service is defined as a datagram based application on the UDP protocol. The basic procedure and TCP using the UDP protocol are also received what abandoned, and the detected port is also 9. Do not make a response.
