Late network conference report

(RFC63-Beland Network Meeting Report)

On May 8, 1970, the Network Working Group Conference was held in the Lincoln Laboratory, and the theme of the discussion discussion is:

1) Lincoln Laboratory Local Interaction Language (LIL).

2) Record, messages, and Host-Host information exchange form.

3) Multi-faceted control.

The first topic has been summarized in the annual technical summary of the Lincoln Studio (entitled "Graphics") on May 31, 1970.

It was thoroughly summarized (the text number is ESD-TR-70-151).

The second topic is related to the discussion of many NWG / RFC # 42, where all the messages must be mentioned.

The first 8-bit type byte is sent, which declares the format of the subsequent message.

The resolution behind it is like this:

a) The record in a message can begin anywhere.

b) The first 8-bit record saves type information.

c) The first connection starts from one record.

Type 0 means that the following transmits can contain recording of any length, but longer type bytes do not exist.

Messages and records are not dependent on the flow control protocol, so the reception of the message does not have any semantic color. Course

However, the recorded reception starts from the decoding.

After the above discussion, the proposal for NWG / RFC # 42 made the following sequence changes:

TYPE 0 = bit string of arbitrary length follows

TYPE 1 = 8-bit ASCII FOLLOWS

TYPE 2 = EBCDIC FOLLOWS

TYPE 3 = Mod 33 Tty 7-bit ASCII

TYPE 4 = Your Local

Followed by Another Type Byte

TYPE 5 = My Local

Followed by Another Type Byte

The brighteree of the above resolution is also the evaluation of the meeting staff, that is, these people:
