Installation configuration of Tomcat5.5.9

As a person in JSP and servlet, the most difficult thing is the most difficult to be the server's configuration. I have just started learning JSP and servlet, now communicating with everyone. My main environment is as follows 1 - Windows XP SP22 - J2SDK 1.5 and JRE1.53 - Tomcat 5.5.9 The rough steps are as follows: 1. Install and configure Java. 2. Download and install the server. 3. Test the server. 1 - Install and configure Java. 1.1 Download J2SDK and JRE. You can download at http://java.sun.com. Note Tomcat5.5.9 needs JRE1.5.1.2 installation and set up environment variables. Set the Java_Home variable as the main directory of Java. Put the bin of Java The directory path is added to the path environment variable. 1.3 Test the Java environment. Go to the command prompt (start - run - cmd), enter java -version, see the version is right. Enter javac -help to see if the correct prompt, if prompt " Not internal live command, nor is the running program or batch file, no Path path is set. See 1.2 Everything OK, enter the second step. 2 - Download and install the server. 2. Download Tomcat5.5.9. Download address http://jakarta.apache.org/site/down...s_tomcat-5.cgi. Download 5.5.9.exe (is a Windows installation file, I think it is better than the decompression file. Most). 2.2 Installation. Double-click the downloaded Jakarta-Tomcat-5.5.9.exe file (4.29M), you can enter the installation status. The installation process is just as simple as other software installed for Windows, and the path is selected until the next step is completed. It should be noted that the port number is the port number, you will prompt you to modify the port number during the installation process, if you don't have any other server, I suggest you modify the port number to 80, so you can debug the program later. If you already have another server to occupy 80 or you are not afraid of debugging, you will not be annoying in the address bar input 8080, then keep 8080.2.3 to open the servlet debugger. Mainly in order to ship new servlet without modifying a web.xml file, with the in-depth learning, you will experience the convenience of this, but it is not recommended to do so, limited to the learning phase.
