l system load
Solaris's value is approximately 3 to 5 times higher than FreeBSD, and the value of Solaris fluctuates between 0 and 10, and the value of FreeBSD fluctuates between 0 and 1.
l CPU idle
The value of Solaris is higher than freeBSD, and Solaris is 85%, while FreeBSD is about 94%.
Solaris's robustness, particularly paying attention to the performance of the CPU, which leads to the cause of the system load. FreeBSD, linux is a peak of 1000 or so in very much pressure (kernel to be able to crash). As a web front-end machine, the first choice should be "network throughput" capabilities. So personal thinking, a Linux suitable kernel is the key to running PHP as web server!
(The above test Apache 1.3.27 PHP 4.3.2, the conclusion obtained by pressure test)
