Globalization, as a global system design and execution, is not a feature. It is an architecture. In order to succeed in the global market, IBM must provide the system required to support global e-commerce definitions, and concentrate on the development of technologies to provide the key capabilities required for globalization.
Many benefits can be brought to the globalization architecture, including:
A server can support applications represented in a variety of languages, thereby reducing the cost and time required to develop, deploy and provide applications worldwide. Design server deployment based on load level and loading resources, not language support requirements. The same version and patch levels can be used on worldwide servers, thereby reducing the cost of support, maintenance, and training. Each product handles data in a consistently established industrial standard (for example: finishing, date / time format), which is built on these products to ensure consistent processing.
