Recently, CCID Information Consultant Co., Ltd. conducted special investigations on 50 large-scale general hospitals, specialist hospitals and industry hospitals in the current information construction in the current hospital.
First, domestic hospital information development status
my country's hospital information system has experienced the following four stages:
1. Single-machine application: Beginning in the late 1980s, it is mainly used for outpatient charges, hospitalized patient expense management, drug storage management.
2. Department-Level LAN: Mid-1980s, representative application systems mainly have hospitalized patient management systems, outpatient prices and toll-proof pharmaceutical systems, drug management systems, etc.
3. Complete hospital information system: At the beginning of the 1990s, some major hospitals have established a more complete hospital information system in 100m fast Ethernet.
4. Remote medical: With the rise of the Internet, in some major hospitals, the research and implementation of telemedicine is started, and images such as radiation, MRI, CT are passed through Internet.
Overall, since the 1990s, my country's hospital information construction has been growing, in more than 500 large-scale comprehensive hospitals in the country and more than 1,000 hospitals in more than 1,000 counties and cities, there are nearly nine hundred big Small and medium-sized hospitals have been implemented or is implementing a hospital information system. Sampling survey of CCID Information Consultant Co., Ltd. shows that the current information construction of my country's hospital has the following characteristics:
◆ The degree of informationization in hospitals in economics and developed regions is relatively high. Among the 50 hospitals surveyed, developed areas, provincial capital urban hospitals have a high level in terms of information system design, development, application, or information system maintenance and system upgrading capabilities.
◆ The industry is relatively simple, the construction system is relatively simple, low technology, limited in a single outpatient fee and pharmacological management, but there is a large market development potential.
◆ A large-scale hospital information system investment scale is more than 10 million yuan, more than 62% of technical personnel is a university undergraduate, doctor, and nurse's employment number of 95%.
Second, the hospital information system construction characteristics
By analyzing 50 hospital sampling surveys, we can summarize the following characteristics of the construction system construction:
1. Architecture:
Most hospital information system construction uses the Client / Server architecture and 10M / 100M main switching network. However, with the increasing increase in the function of the hospital information system, there is a continuous improvement of demand, and there are about 5% hospitals that have already been transformed on existing systems.
2. Selection of network equipment:
In the survey found that the hospital is very cautious about network construction and product selection, and the performance is:
◆ The network has good expansion, and the system is easy to upgrade;
◆ The network has openness and supports the interconnection of heterogeneous networks;
◆ Advanced network management system, with data flow analysis, system failure, and operating status detection and virtual network management function;
◆ Ensure the security and confidentiality of the network. The survey shows that more than 1/3 hospital uses 3COM switch, the Intel switch is followed, accounting for about 23%, and the remaining market share is shared by Cisco, Nortel Network, AMP product. Cisco products have been influenced in earlier selection due to hospital investment, but there is a good performance in recent hospital information system renovation projects and new projects.
3. Server selection:
In the construction of the hospital information system, the server as the core of the network, the total market size, and the demand of users have a significant increase in demand.
◆ The typical configuration of the small and medium-sized hospital information system is 2-3 PC servers, 1 for database management, 1 set for web servers, 1 as a backup server;

The PC server share of domestic brands is less, mainly related to the large environment of domestic PC servers market in the previous year, I believe that domestic PC servers will have a good performance in future medical reforms and medical insurance, especially SME information system construction will display strong competitive strength. The survey results are shown in Figure 1.
◆ The PC market is a domestic brand that occupies the leading position, Lenovo, Fang Zheng, Tsinghua Tongfang, Tongchuang, Zhida, and ACER and other PCs are favored by users. 4. application:
The hospital information system is a complex, involved in a wide range of application systems, so the development of the system is the process of quasi-size. The survey found that many hospitals are more or less based on their own conditions, as shown in the following table:

Third, hospital information consider factors
In the survey, the system maintenance of large hospitals is good, and the system maintenance of small and medium-sized hospitals is often a company that hosted to cooperation. Therefore, the stability, reliability, safety, and standardization of the entire hospital information system is hospital information. The factors first considered by construction.
1. The hospital information system is a real 365 × 24-hour real-time system. The patient's information must be transmitted accurately in the hands of the doctor. Once the system is put into use, it is not allowed to stop, and the manual operation is not returned. In the hospital survey, CIOs most emphasized that the most important thing is the stability of the system, and the general system downtime must not exceed 5 minutes.
2. The biggest feature of the hospital information system is that the computer terminal is set in various departments, points, broad, multi-person operation, and inter-work points are close, information should be called each other, and the information should be updated at any time, in addition, medical information of patients It involves personal privacy, the hospital is responsible for conserving the secrets of all patients, so compared with other industries, the hospital information system construction is higher, and the safety requirements are higher. 3. In the 50 hospitals survey, CIOs care and positive to solve system standardization issues. If the system standardization problem solves the problem, the information between the hospital is not only talking on the paper, but also the information exchange between different departments within the hospital is only a dream.
Fourth, the gap between foreign countries
1. The size of the investment scale is obvious:
Although the information construction of my country's hospital is earlier, it is not very fast due to the influence of various factors, which is the main constraints. my country's hospital has low in information technology, which means that the proportion of investment accounts for the total value of profit, but absolutely a large gap between foreign countries, a typical US urban hospital investment is about 2 million in information technology. 2. The proportion of technicians is obvious:
In an interview, we propose whether the hospital information system can serve outsourcing, many CIOs believe that the hospital information system service outsourcing may be small, the main reason is that the hospital information system is very real-time, and there is a problem to solve it within a few minutes. CIOs are very bossful about the shortage of hospital technicians. Sampling survey shows that hospitals with 800 workstations, a hospital with the total number of computer technicians is 16 people; 300 workstations, computer technicians have only 3-4 people, far from the needs of daily system maintenance and system training. . Conversely, in foreign hospitals, 1 technicians have system maintenance every 20 work sites. Cultivating a stable, high-quality talents will be the key to hospital information construction.
V. Market trend during "10"
During the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, major hospitals in the country are or preparing to invest new systems or transform the original legacy system to accommodate the upcoming medical reform.
The survey shows that the hospital information system "10" period will increase investment in the following aspects:
1. A new generation hospital information system centered on electronic medical record
2. Integrated Medical Care Network Based on Internet Network
3. Medical card will become an investment focus
4. Long-distance medical education will get a long development
The hospital will further increase the investment of telemedicine, and the investment scale is between 200-3 million.
The medical industry is an important cause of human health. The hospital information system is the source of the medical insurance system. Therefore, the information construction of the hospital is not only an important direction of the development of the hospital, but also the field of IT. Forecast 2000-2001, my country will have 70% -80% of hospitals to realize information management, and the total market will reach more than 20 billion yuan.
