In corporate management, numerical calculations are not complicated, but the amount of data processing information is large. In order to solve the problem of enterprise management, in 1959, some computer users dedicated to business processing were designed, and the US Data System Language Association was announced in 1961. It has been developed into a variety of versions of continuous revision, richness and standardization.
Cobol language uses more than 300 English reserved words, a large number of ordinary English vocabulary and sentence patterns, and the COBOL program is easy to understand, and the "English language" is known.
COBOL language synergies are strict. Any source program written in COBOL languages must be written in sections according to the identification department, the environment, the data unit, and the process department. The "section" of the COBOL program structure contains "section", "section" containing "segments". In the section, the statement is included, the statement is composed of words or strings, and the entire source program is like a root to dry, from dry to the branches, from the branches to the leaves, it is used to the tree structure.
At present, the COBOL language is mainly used in information management, such as intelligence retrieval, commercial data processing.
Java specializes in the design of the user interface, and COBOL is very powerful in business logic.
COBOL is used to develop inventory, bank, payment, circulation and stock trading system. It can be said that most important applications are developed by COBOL, and these are the most important systems in the enterprise.
Cobol has been in line with industry standards, like ANSI and ISO standard certification, as the environment has changed, and COBOL has also increasing many new features, with the largest feature to transition to object-oriented. Program language, which makes IBM continue to cooperate with COBOL.
As early as Java appeared, Acucorp was created in the first day of the company, and it was already able to write once, and anywhere can be executed anywhere; currently we can perform on 600 platforms, including Windows, Linux, J2EE, Novell, etc.
COBOL is now useful to assist in the application of enterprise development componentization.
