IBM launches new DB2 software that can independently and optimize information analysis
Computer World Network Message IBM has recently launched IBM DB2 Cube Views. This new software can better prepare complex information for a variety of different commercial intelligence applications, enhance their performance to increase 10% -70%, and more information sharing between applications is easier.
The code DB2 Cube Views during the development process is Aurora. This software automatically generates online analysis processing (OLAP) metadata using a unique algorithm. In other words, it can define, describe, and retrieve the information in the database, so that data can be verified from different angles. Due to DB2 Cube Views, OLAP metadata can only be generated once, and can be repeatedly shared between end users, programmers, and different commercial intelligence applications in various phases of data collection and analysis.
By loading data into a multi-dimensional chart similar to a square, programmers can use metadata to further prepare information used. This chart can display data from different angles. For example, this block diagram can display product sales status in accordance with regional, time, salesperson, profits, and marketing activities. End users can immediately use various queries and report tools that are best suited for them, these tools and can come from different vendors. For example, a department can use specific applications from history from historical perspectives, while another can use different set tools to predict the future sales of another product or region.
Since the software uses the industry's general protocol, and its database technology is centralized, standardized, different applications of individual vendors used in each of OLAPs can share metadata more easily. These applications can be used without further training. More than 15 commercial intelligent applications have supported this new DB2 tool. They believe that the software is perfect for its own products, as a business intelligence platform, the value of DB2 is significantly improved.
With DB2 Cube Views, DB2 now provides a built-in "Performance Advisor" for the vendor, which can be used to optimize the information collection and identification process before analysis, and automate the process. Since assembly information is customized for specific query style, third-party business intelligence applications can work more quickly - even in complex environments, different departments need to query the same information in different ways. The system and application performance are more efficient, allowing customers to save the cost of human and computer resources during the process of querying the data.
In addition, DB2 Cube Views also previews the web service interface, the result of the OLAP query can be returned in a universal web-friendly format, allowing more people to access the results.
