The following is the chapter in my master's thesis: (CityLamp)
It is well known that the vectorized map of commercialization is very expensive. If you can create a beautiful vectorized map you can self-reliance, you will save the cost of the company. I have been explored by the graduate period, summarizing a way of drawing a vectorized map, posting with you :)
Based on practice, the general step of making a vectorized map is: 1) After scanning the city map with a scanner, use the JPG format. Then open in the specialized image processing software such as Photoshop, the function of calling the image processing software performs graphic splicing, noise reduction, refining, etc. to improve the quality of the acquired raster image, get a grid map of an intermediate product. 2) Next to open a grid map in MapInfo. A message is displayed at this time, asking if it is just simple display or registration. If you choose to display, MapInfo automatically generates a TAB file with the raster file and is displayed in the map window. The layer at this time is referred to as a grid layer. We can draw the vectorized map we need by overwriting new layers on the grid layer. If you want to use a raster image with a vector image while you want to use the grid image, you must select the latter to make image registration, so that MapInfo can place an image in the map window. The registration process is made in the Image Registration dialog, mainly two work, one is to provide accurate control point information, and the other is the projection of the specified raster image. Select the front of the raster map as a reference to the vectorized map. 3) Establish a new layer using the method of saving the modified layer in MapInfo, and set the layer to visible and editable. Using the modified layer to generate a new layer to ensure unity of parameters such as each layer. Next, the reference gate, line, fold and arc, polygon, rectangular, text, symbol, etc., which are provided on the newly created layer are called, the wiring, line, arc, polygon, rectangles, text, symbols, etc. Practice shows that the road part is suitable for use in the arrangement of folding, blocks, rivers, and green spaces. Taking into account the efficiency, you can generate multiple layers in MapInfo as photoshop, represent roads, green spaces, rivers, blocks, etc. (This requires the way to generate various layers in front of the method mentioned above, then other people copy all charts, maps, pictures, indexes and other files and grid layer files) 4) Each new The layers are the collection of multilateral, folding lines, etc., which can call MapInfo to split, merge, erase, drag, etc., can set attribute information (such as road name, belonging) for each object. No block, GPS location information, etc.). 5) Summarket the drawing layer. Start Mapx Map Management Tool Geoset Manager, open all layers in this software, saved as a GST file (to be placed in the Mapx's MAPS directory). Register the picture again. At this point, the generation of vectorized maps is over.
