The results of the reader's choice prize last year seem to show that after years of fluctuations, the development speed of the Delphi third-party tool market has slowed down. For example, in 25 categories last year, 19 were still winning again by the winners of the previous year.
However, Turbopower Software cast a heavy bomb in January this year, announced that it is no longer engaged in related business as a Delphi third-party tool supplier. Although Turbopower made this decision with Delphi (see Alan Moore's interview with Turbopower President Gary Freking), but still proton an unrelegased throughout the Delphi community. Since Turbopower has 10 products in 9 categories, our readers' choice awards are also affected.
In short, everyone can see that some new faces debut after TurboPower. Of course, this year's reference products are not lacking, from 228 species last year to 299.
In addition, we are always adjusting the categories of the selection, making it more accurately reflecting the rich and diversity of products on the Delphi third-party market. To this end, we have added 3 new categories this year: security tools, team project development tools and web host providers, so now there are 28 categories.

Best Accounting Package Xuanzhu has been divided. Last year, Columbusoft's Accounting for Delphi and the BS / 1 of Davis Business Systems Ltd company. This year, Accounting for delphi is unique with 33% of the ticket rate, and the BS / 1 is ranked second, the ticket rate is 23%. BravoFT's Bravo ranks third in the third consecutive year.
Best Plugin (Best Add-in) old master. This category selection result is near last year, the top three have not changed. Developer Express's Coderush (recently purchased from Eagle Software) For the fifth consecutive, the ticket rate was 36%. ModelMaker Tools' models of ModelMaker Code Explorer ranked second, the ticket rate was 19%; the Multi-Edit of American Cybernetics received a third, the voter rate was 12%.
Best Books (Best Book) Forbidden. Best Database Interconnect Components Library (BEST DATABASE CONNECTIVITY) is new. The ASTA of Jason Wharton's IB Objects and Asta Technology Group was only perfect in the third and fourth positions this year, for three consecutive years. The new winners of this category were the Advantage TDataSet Descendant and Devrace of Extended Systems, with 20% and 15% votes.
Best Database Engine (Best Database Engine) is divided into the city. This category is a three-year competition that DBISAM DATABASE SYSTEM (Elevant Software) and Advantage Database Server (Extended Systems). In 2001, Advantage Database Server won three percentage points; in 2002, both of them were first. But this year, DBISAM won the first in convincing vote, and the ticket rate was 40%, and Advantage got 28% of the votes.
Note how these two products have gain a higher ticket rate. The 2001 Advantage and DBISAM share rates were 53%, 54% in 2002, but this year has reached 68%. It seems that they have occupied the territory left after Turbopower Flashfiler exited, Flashfiler last year is the third place with 20% of the ticket rate. Apollo has obtained the third, with a ticket rate of 9% (decline, 15% last year), Software Science, Topaz for Delphi, followed, the fourth is obtained at 7%.
Best Database Tool (Best Database Tool) close. After Woll2woll Software, after the "three chartes" of its Infopower product, this year can only be flexed second. Best Global Tools (Best Globalization Tool). The players have not changed, but the ranking is slightly changed. Multilizer VCL Edition (Multilizer) won the chief for three consecutive years, won 31% votes. Tsilang Components Suite (SiComponents) was second with Localizer (Korzh.com), this year, exclusive, 26%, Localizer fell to the third, and the ticket rate was 20%.
Best Help File Production Kit (Best Help-Authoring Package). Surprising last year, Help & Manual (EC Software) has won the first 29% of the ticket rate, because in the past three years, Helpscribble and Robohelp have allocated first and second. Best image processing tool (Best Imaging Tool) is driven. This category This year's selection is ultimately a flat autumn, the Best Image Treatment Tool Award is shared by ImageLib Corporate Suite (Skyline Tools) and LeadTools Imaging Toolkit (Lead Technologies). Best Installation Package Winner is king. This category continues to be collisted by two installation giants: InstallShield Software and Wise Solutions. But InstallShield is obviously in the expected. Installshield defeated Wise in 6 percentage points last year, which continued to be more than 19 percentage points higher than Wise. Best routine library (BEST LIBRARY) is also named. Turbopower's Systools has always occupied this category of the name in the past three years. However, SYSTOOLS has fallen since the 2001 voting rate, only 3 percentage points of the second ExpressBars Suite (Developer Express) last year. If the trend is still, this year's ExpressBars Suite will win the first. Best Modeling and Case Tools (Modeling / Case Tool). Modelmaker (Modelmaker Tools) and Rational Rose (Rational Software) have been first and second in this category for three consecutive years, but ModelMaker continues to lead to Rational Rose. In 2001, the votes were 27% and 22%, respectively, from 40% and 21%, respectively, this year, 54% and 19%, respectively. Best Report Tool (Best Reporting Tool). This category is still held by many years of champion ReportBuilder (Digital Metaphors). But its ticket rate will decline again this year. In 2001, its ticket rate was 57%, 54% in 2002, fell to 37% this year. The offer rate of FastReport (Fr-Software & A.tzyganenko) continues to rise and get the second place again. Best Safety Tool Safe. This is the first new selection category. Safety is so important, I am very strange why this category was not set up. In the past few years, these tools are divided into other categories (for example, the best application tool), so I am very happy to see that they can ultimately be higher than the same desk. UIL Security SYSTEM (Unlimited Intelligence Limited) gets the first place at 28% of the ticket rate. IP * WORKS! SSL (/ N Software) Gets the second place at 22% of the ticket rate. Best Team Project Development Tool (Best Team / Project Tool) He is one. The best team project development tool is the second new category this year. Best Web Development Tool (Best Web Development Tool) new and old. Last year, Atozed Software's intRaweb, at 62% high vote (last year 41%), it consolidated its leading position in this category. The second year of ExpressWeb Framework (Developer Express) replaced the second Internet Professional (TurboPower) last year with 25% of the ticket. The third place this year is PackageFortheweb (Installshield), the ticket rate is 5%, and last year's third ASP Express (Marotz Delphi Group) fell to the fifth place.

In 2002, TurboPower received three first two seconds; developer Express followed by two first and three seconds.
