Mounting and Backup of tapers under SCO UNIX (1)
Because of the reasons for work, use the tape drive backup data. Some experiences have been summarized in the implementation process for your reference.
The server is IBM PC Server 250 (double machine array cabinet), the operating system is SCO UnixWare 7.1.1, because it is a financial system, a dual-machine software GDS is installed, and Sybase11.9.4 and financial system applications are installed on the disk array. There are now two application libraries: MBFewKDB, MBFehisdb, now you have to back up these two application libraries to the tape drive.
One. Mounting machine
1, SCSI information query:
SDICONFIG -L
Will list all SCSI devices and SCSI
0: 0, 7, 0: HBA: (ADSB, 2) Adaptec PCI SCSI
0, 0, 0: Disk: IBM-ESXSST318305LC! # B244
0,8,0: HBA: IBM Ausav1s2 0
1: 0, 7, 0: HBA: (ADSB, 1) Adaptec PCI SCSI
0,0,0: Disk: Accuraid960u2W
2: 0,7,0: HBA: (IDE, 1) Generic ESDI / IDE / ATA
0,0,0: CDROM: Liteon CD-ROM LTN486S YUS5
The top 3 lines are SCSI equipment, and the No. 7 is SCSI card. No. 0 is hard disk, and the 8th is also a SCSI device.
The tape drive on the SCSI card cannot be used, and the 3 numbers are generally used, and 5, 6 is used.
The fourth, 5 lines are another SCSI card.
On the 6th, 7 lines are IDE cards, which are hard drives and CDROM.
2, the installation of the tape drive
Shut down.
Set the number on the tape drive to an idle number and access it to the SCSI interface.
Restart, there will be a new file / dev / rmt / ctape1 to use.
Back up files into the tape drive: TAR CVF / DEV / RMT / CTAPE1 FileNames
Display the list of files on the tape drive: TAR TVF / DEV / RMT / CTAPE1
Copy file from the tape drive: TAR XVF / DEV / RMT / CTAPE1
Note that the capacity size of the tape drive and the size of the tape must match.
3. Add the tape drive to the Sybase backup device:
sp_adddumpDevice dev_name "/ dev / rmt / ctape1"
