Make Novell's mirror on the HP server
My unit's HP server is a small machine of the LH3000 model, installed on the HP server is Novell's network operating system. A hard drive of the recent server is corrupted, you need to reinstall the hard drive and make mirror.
The HP LH3000 server is used by the hard disk of the SCSI interface. It is RAID 0, which is to make two hard drives as two logical disks, and mirror mirror tools with Novell.
I will introduce the use of HP's RAID Tools HP NetRAID Config Menus. When the system is started, press Ctrl M to enter the HP NetRAID Config Menus interface of the tool. Corresponding to Configure, Initialize, Objects,
Format, Rebuild, Check Consistency, Advanced, Menu and other options. We entered configure, you can see the options for Automatic Configuration, Easy Configuration, New Configuration, View / Add / delete Configuration, Clear Configuration. We press Enter on the View / Add / Delete Configuration item to display the information of our server configuration:

The above information indicates that our disk is made of RAID 0 arrays, and the ID number is 1 disk corruption. There are two magnetic disks on our disk array, the ID number 1 disk corresponds to disk on the disk. This disk is now flashing in red light.
First think about the method of repair, enter the main menu of the configuration, select the Objects option, select the Physical Drive (physical disk) option, select the disk display as a Fail, as if you press the Enter, then select Make Online to match the disc. The dish suddenly turned green light, but it was not normal after it was restarted.
Now I want to use the HP host to make a check on the disk, press F2 healthy CMOS in Embedded Lan and SCSI settings - àhp netraid / ... .--> Select Enable LVD SCSI
Then press CTRL C to select the second-> verify, check it. When checking, the second hard disk flashs yellow. After the verification is completed, the NO BED block Found!, After restarting, press F2 Jianjin CMOS in Embedded Lan and SCSI Settings - àhp netraid / .... -> Select Enable HP RAID. This can only be configured with HP's RAID tool.
Place the hard drive justified, enter configure - àview / add / delete / configuration - à Move to the new hard drive, press space, prompt characters flash, press Enter to confirm, characters will not flash. Then the RAID option will appear, we choose RAID 0. Note that if it is not RAID 0, it is now changed to RAID 0, which will cause the hard disk data to be lost, pay attention to A.
Then you will restart.
If you unplug a hard drive, you will be reconfigured. Choose configure-ànew configure --- à space ----> Select RAID 0 - à Enter Save. It's now a mirror in Novell.

Establish a primary DOS partition on a new hard disk, do not have to activate, format new hard drives, and then find a logical disk after restarting, format this logical disk formation into system disks, then copy C: /*.* to the disk . In this way, even after the main disc is damaged, as long as the sub-plate is activated, it can also be launched.
2. How to determine the primary disk?
When NetWare is started, it always starts from the default ID number. If it is a general SISC hard disk, you should set the jumper on the hard disk.
3. Mirror
(1) Load INSTALL
Establish Novell's partition, pay attention to the size of the partition, the size of the hot repair area must be the same.
(2) into mirror / vnmirror disk partitions
NOT MIRRORED: Device 0
Not mirrored: Device 1
(3) Now there is data on the primary disk, no data on the sub-disk, press Enter on Device 0, and then in Sync ... prompts. According to INS, Device 1 appears. . . . . . . , Then press Enter to confirm the mirror. If the disk size is inconsistent, whether you want to change the size prompt, choose YES to confirm. (I am the data mirror on the sub-plate to the primary disc, so I am inserted on the primary disk)
Mirror status can be used in the state of the mirror status.
After completing the Mirror / Vnmirror Disk Partitions option, you will see the mirrored prompt.
When you make a mirror, you should pay attention to A, you can don't do it, then it is miserable.
