Sybase to Oracle Connection Server Implementation
Author: CCBZZP
The interconnection of different database platforms generally refer to the heterogeneous service of the database. Now there is such a heterogeneous interconnection between major databases, just the specific implementation technology of each manufacturer, such as: In Sybase called Connect OR Connection Profile, implements interconnection with other databases via ODBC.
The test environment of this article is:
Operating system: Windows2000 Server (Traditional System)
Installation Database: Sybase8.0 Server (English) and Oracle92 Client (English)
Specific implementation steps: 1. Requirements to install Oracle client software and Sybase8.0 Server software on your PC. 2. First Oracle To create a service name
Such as:
# TNSNAMES.ORA NETWORK Configuration File: D: /oracle/ora92/neetwork/admin/tnsnames.ora
#Enerated by Oracle Configuration Tools.
......
Test =
(Description =
(Address_list =
(Address = (protocol = TCP) (Host = 10.100.1.101) (port = 1521)))
)
(Connect_data =
(SID = TEST)
)
)
......
3. Configure Windows ODBC Data Sources: Start Menu - "Program Set - System Management Tool -" Data Source (ODBC) - "Enter the Configument User DSN or System DSN can: Add -" Select Oracle ORA92HOME- "custom Data Source Name (free such as: Oracletest) - "TNS Service Name Name (must!) Enter ORACLE Database for the Test-" User ID "OK.
Configure and test ODBC!

Select the Connection Profiles option in Tools in the menu
Select the new profile of the new button, enter your connection name at Name, select Copy Profile, select Adaptive Server Anywhere8.0 Sample in Connection Profile, OK, appear Edit Connection Profile screen,
User: Use the user name of the database of Oracle's database
Password: Enter the user's password to the user of the Oracle database
Below the ODBC Data Source Name, select ODBC to be completed above.

When accessing the table, the format is: [Connect Server Name] .. [Oracle User]. [Type]. More detailed use is not described here.
In the future, add it!
