First, SMTP mechanism
1, send mail
The mail host wants to send the message to the recipient's mail host on the Internet, first of all, you must ensure that the recipient mail host name can be pinged on the sender's host. Enable SMTP service, send mail to send mail through SMTP service.
2, receive mail
In the same way, the local mail host can receive the email sent by the external Internet, but also the host that sends the mail can find the local mail host. Therefore, a host message is set on the DNS server, and it is necessary to set a MX (Mail Exchange Mail Switch) record.
This allows local mail hosts to receive messages from the outside. Before this, you must first set "Start SMTP Listening". After the server hosts receive the message, you need to distribute the message into the mailbox corresponding to the receiver.
Second, the role of various documents related to SMTP settings
Server Document - Sets the current server, which can be used to receive the server of SMTP mail. In the Basic tab, you should set "SMTP Mail Post" in the post task, and the SMTP listening task is selected to "Enable".
Configuration Document - Is it used to identify mail routing to external Internet. You must add a configuration document to the SMTP server to send a message when the "Basic" label "in the" Router / SMTP "is selected in the local Internet network domain.
Global Network Domain Domain - Used to convert the sender's address to the sender, and convert the received external mail to the internal mail user. This document should be set as follows, in the basic tag: 1, a word in the global network domain; 2, global network domain role - R5 Internet network domain or R4.x SMTP MTA. In the "Conversion" tag: 1, address format - only address; 2. Local main Internet network domain - (Fill in the domain name registered on the Internet; 3, Internet address query - enabled. (Note: Domino5.0.8 and 5.0.9 If you select disabled, the conversion rules are converted to have problems).
Personal Document - The received mail is distributed to the recipient's mailbox, which is identified by the settings in the personal document. The "Internet Address" in the "Mail" tab is required in your personal document. (You can do a proxy to generate)
