AppleTalk is a multi-layer protocol launched by Apple, supports network routing, transaction services, data stream services, and domain name services, and fully implements files and print shared services between Apple systems through the localtalk interface in Apple hardware. Other network media (such as Ethernet) and AppleTalk can be implemented by Ethernet bridges. Widnews are provided with Localtalk or Apple mechanisms.
