The Internet Security Connection and Key Management Agreement (Isakmp) is a major protocol in the IPSec architecture. The protocol combines the concept of certification, key management and security connection, etc. to establish the security required for private communications on the merchant and the Internet.

The Internet Security Alliance and Key Management Agreement (ISAKMP) defines the program and packet formats to establish, negotiate, modify, and delete secure connections (SA). SA includes all information required for various network security services, including IP layer services (such as head authentication and load packaging), transmission, or application layer services, and self-protection services for negotiation traffic. IsakMP definition includes a payload of the exchange key generation and authentication data. These formats provide a unified framework for transport keys and authentication data, and they are independent of the key generating technology, encryption algorithm and authentication mechanism.
