Understanding The Emulator's Limitations

Although the new simulator always keeps with the development of the equipment, it is guaranteed that the high-fidelity simulation of the equipment and the convenience of developers, but each simulator always has some limitations when simulating real devices. The SMARTPHONE code running in the SMARTphone SDK is a code compiled with the X86 CPU. In most major application development scenarios, this is enough to meet the requirements. But this type of simulation still has some restrictions:

l To use the simulator, the application must be compiled into a program running on the x86 CPU. The application must be subjected to X86 compiler, runtime, and support files and ARM-based devices based on potential differences.

l Because the difference between the CPU architecture (X86 CISC VERSUS ARM RISC) and the instruction set, the simulator cannot express each absolute detail operation, and the simulator cannot be optimized for the memory area. However, for most applications, this level of analysis does not constitute a practical problem.

l The mouse replaces the touch screen. Although the function of the mouse and the touch screen is similar, application developers still need to take additional experience methods for the touchproofer used by the user.

Regardless of whether the development workstation supports the recording function, the recording function support is not provided in the simulator.
