The second layer forwarding protocol (L 2f) is used to establish a secure tunnel across the public network (such as the Internet) to connect the ISP POP to the enterprise gateway. This tunnel establishes a user with a virtual point-to-point connection between enterprise customer networks.
The second layer forwarding protocol (L 2F) allows link layer tunnel technology for high-level protocols. Use such a tunnel such that the original dial server position and dial protocol connection are used to terminate the separation from the supplied network access location.
L 2F allows PPP / SLIP packages in L 2F. ISP NAS and home gateways need to work together to successfully transfer or receive SLIP / PPP packages on the Internet.
