What is Fortran
Fortran is the abbreviation of formula translation, meaning "formula translation". It is the first advanced programming language in the world that is officially adopted. It can be seen by the name. It is very close to the "natural description" of mathematical formulas, mainly in the field of scientific and engineering calculations.
Fortran was originally developed by IBM in 1957 and running on the IBM704 computer.
The 1966 US Standardization Association has developed Fortran (X3.9-1966) and Fortran (X3.9-1966), FORTRAN (X3.9-1966), Fortran66.
However, Fortran66 is not a structured programming language. In 1976, the US Standardization Association re-established Fortran (X3.9-1966), which announced a new Fortran standard, which is Fortran77. The Fortran77 has achieved great success, almost ruling the field of numerical calculations in a considerable period of time, and is accepted as international standards in 1980.
