ERP is a huge management information system. To explain the principle of ERP, we must first take the four main stages of ERP development, from the most basic sixty-year MRP principle.

Basic MRP principle

We all know that according to the source of demand, the material's internal materials can be divided into independent needs and related needs. Independent demand refers to the demand and demand time by the needs of the enterprise, for example, the product ordered by the customer, the sample required by the research trial system, the prepare parts for after-sales maintenance, etc .; related demand refers to the structural composition according to the structure between materials Demand produced by the material from independent needs, such as semi-finished products, components, raw materials, etc.

The basic tasks of MRP are: (1) Demand and demand time (related requirements) from the production plan (independent demand) from the final product (independent needs); (2) according to the requirements of the material and the production (order) cycle To determine how to start production (order).

The basic content of MRP is the production plan and procurement plan of the part. However, to properly prepare the part plan, first, the product's progress plan must be implemented, and the term used by Master Production Schedule, MPS is the basis for the Master Production Schedule, MPS. MRP also needs to know the parts structure of the product, which is the material list (BILL OF MATERIAL, BOM) to launch the main production plan into a part plan; at the same time, you must know the amount of inventory to accurately calculate the number of parts. Therefore, the basis of the basic MRP is: (1) Main Production Plan (MPS); (2) Material List (BOM); (3) Inventory Information. The logical process relationship between them is shown below.
