Very interesting blog, the project of this friend is a budget-arranged software, and it seems to be used in quite a large range. But this project does not use Portal or other B / S architecture, but the RCP of Eclipse. This kind of brother shared some experience in building this RCP project, such as: using CD to distribute the system (I guess it is needed to be in client install); use Eclipse's Update Manager to do new version updates; use an embedded type HSQL allows the client to run independently (as if you can proceed from the host, offline data); use Import / Export to work separately on different machines; use Jasper to process reports.
