Use only ISO image file can install system
There are many ways to install the operating system, for example, by installing the CD boot system, by launching the floppy boot system and then running on the local hard drive, through the RIS server remotely, such as GHOST multicast, etc. What I want here is a way of installing in a certain particular environment, can't say that it is a skill, just a way to objectively premise less, not well known.
My actual situation is as follows: The current use system is Windows Server2003 Enterprise, all disk partitions are NTFS, no disc installation in the hand, no NTFS for DOS boot disk, the ISO image file on the hard disk. I would like to install the new WindowsXP Pro installed the partition where the existing system is located and deletes the original partition. At this time, most people are thinking, this is not available. Right? In fact, there is still a way, we can use only one ISO image file with virtual drive software to replace the current operating system installation new system.
The method is as follows: In the current system, load the operating system image file to be installed through the virtual optical drive software. Winnt32.exe under its i386 directory, first the system will pop up a warning prompt box, click OK, select the new installation, enter the serial number, then you will see the setup options dialog shown in the figure.
Click Advanced Options. Click to select "Copy All Installation Files from the Sepup CD", it is recommended to select the second "I Wannt to Choose The Install Drive Letter and Partition During Setup, so you can select the installation drive letter)
After clicking OK, the system will copy the installation file from the image file to the system partition, generate $ win_nt $. ~ BT and $ WIN_NT $. ~ LS two folders. After the copy is complete, the system restarts, the interface similar to dual system selection, select "Microsoft Windows XP Professional Setup"
Enter the familiar blue interface. Select "To Set Up Windows XP Now, Press Enter", "C: Partition1" (assuming the original system in the C drive, I also want to install the new system on the original partition. You can't choose formatting C drive here. Because the installed temporary file is also saved on the C drive.) Next, the screen as shown, the warning does not recommend installing multiple systems in the same partition, and select "To Continue Setup useing the disparting, Press C. "
Next, the system will detect that the original Windows Serve 2003 Enterprise system exists on the C drive, and if you continue to install, the original system will be deleted, huh, it is what I want, so "L" on the keyboard .
The system will delete the system and start copying the installation file, and the subsequent installation process is exactly the same as the CD installation system, and then details it.
AlLfeesno Note: This is my original
Use virtual machine installation to choose to use physical hard drives, it will become a real system and don't need to restart fun.
