Win98 repair under WinXP

The normal dual system installation method is the first installed version low system (Win95 -> Win98 -> Win2000 -> WinXP -> Win2003)

This is mainly used in two typical dual systems (Win98 and WinXP)

1. Install the WIN98, set the BIOS from the CD, after the installation is complete, the start system enters Win98.

2. After entering Win98, put the WinXP CD into the CD-ROM drive, install WinXP, select the new WinXP system, do not choose to upgrade, at the same time, the installed location should not be the same as the previous Win98, that is, do not install it in the same partition .

3. After the installation is complete, you can see the dual system launch menu when you start your computer.

The above is in the normal installation order (that is, the low-installed system is installed, and the version is high).

But if the system installed is WinXP, then install Win98, then pay attention to some problems.

First, since Win98's version is lower than WinXP, it cannot be installed directly under WinXP, and must be installed under DOS.

After the Win98 is installed under DOS, we will find the computer directly into Win98 without the dual system launch menu, which involves repairing WinXP. The specific method is as follows:

Put WinXP's installation dish into the optical drive, start from the optical drive, and load the XP installation driver, press F3 to exit directly, do not continue to be installed, react directly. After restarting, set it to the hard drive in the BIOS. A dual system startup menu will appear at startup.

Note: In the above installation process, there are 2 points to note that the partition format of the hard disk must be FAT32, and it cannot be NTFS; and there are two systems that cannot be mounted in the same partition.
