Our customer email system uses the Lotus Domino system, which was originally installed on a Windows 2000 Server platform, and later, the server configuration needs to be migrated to a Sun F4800 small machine, this small machine is Sun Solaris SPARC operating system. The customer's request is to complete the system migration, realize the integrity of user information, and all users do not need to adjust the client configuration to normal send and receive mail. After receiving the task, I have solved the problem through Saturday, and I have consulted some Domino structure information to a buddy of IBM during the resolution. Let's write my practice process.

1. Install Lotus Domino in the Solaris system, which is relatively simple, not described.

2, the directory of the message Description After Solaris is installed under Solaris: / Domino / Lotus / Notes / Domino / Lotus / Notesdata

Running the files Under the top of BIN, the latter file is similar to the Domino / Data directory in the Windows system.

3, data migration and operation to ensure that the mail system under Solaris can still run a full backup of the Lotus directory on the Windows system after I have an error (if you have enough self-confidence, you don't have to do this), then use NotesData The directory is renamed NotesData-Back, and I don't talk about the Domino / Data directory under Windows to the Data.zip file, upload Data.zip to the Solaris system / Domino undernzip Data.zip MV Data NotesData # will notesdata Directory Authorized in Notes User Chown -R Notes: Notes Notesdata

4, the configuration file copies the NotesData-Back / under the Notesdata under Notesdata

5, execute service

Execute Command / Domino / Notes / Bin / Server If the service is OK, if the file readonly is displayed, there is no fully authorized, then you can see if you have any files or directories that you don't belong to Notes Notes users. And authorize it in Notes

6, detection

The method of detection is simple, you can use Outlook, you can also use the following ways # to detect the IMAP service Telnet Mailserip 143 A01 Login User Pass A01 OK Login Completed Illustrate that IMAP is normal

# Detection POP3 Service Telnet MailSerip 110 User User PASS PassWd OK Username Has 29 Messages Indicates that the POP3 service is normal. COM mail from: test@mydomain.com Rcpt to: test@mydomain.com Enter email message: (with data command) DATA input message as follows: Date: 08 Oct 2002 9:30:01 from: test to: test @ Mydomain .com Subject: Test Message! How are you! This is a test message! Later. # End the message, send it! Quit is then charged the message with the POP3 instruction, and the detection is successful.

Note: The Lotus Domino version migrated in this article is 6.2, and there may be some differences in different version of the migration.
