Basic conditions for Windows online neighbors

1) The two parties have opened, and the network shared resource; 2) The computer added "Microsoft Network File and Print Sharing" service; 3) The two sides have set the network IP address in the network and must be in a network segment; 4) The firewall is turned off in both parties, or there is no strategy for online neighbor access in the firewall policy.

Windows 98/2000 / XP / 2003 Access XP user authentication problem

First on why Guests cannot be accessed:

1. By default, XP disables guest account 2. By default, XP's local security policy prohibits guest users from accessing 3, by default, XP Local Security Policy -> Security Options, Account: Upload password Users can only log in to "is enabled, that is, any account of the empty password can only log in locally from the network, Guest default empty password ...

So, if you need to use the guest user to access XP, you want to perform the above three settings: Enable guest, modify the security policy allows guest to access, disable 3 security policies or give guests.

Sometimes it will encounter another situation: When accessing XP, the username in the login dialog is gray, which is always a guest user, and cannot enter other user accounts.

The reason is that this security policy is in the monsters (management tools -> local security policies -> Security Options -> "Network Access: Local Account Sharing and Security Mode"). By default, XP's access method is the way "only guest", then you access it, of course, you cannot enter other user accounts for GUEST.

So, accessing the easiest way to access the XP is: No need to enable guest, only modify the above security policy is "classic". Other systems access XP can enter account information.

As for accessing 2003, by default 2003 disable guest, but there is no XP that hate the default contradictory guest mode sharing, so you can enter your username password access.

A small office local area network is a WinXP system. You can go to the outside network. You can also see the other computer, but you can't see the computer prompts the network prompts the network path. You don't have the right to use the network. not sure! ! I also enabled the guest account! WinXP firewall is also close, IP address has nothing! ! I hope everyone will give analysis! ! thank you very much!

Cause: There is security policy restriction in Win2000 / XP.

Sometimes, Win2000 / XP "smart" has passed, although we have enabled guest accounts, from Win98 but still unable to access Win2000 / XP, such as firewall vulnerability patches such as Rising, it will modify "Refuse to access from network access The policy of this computer is modified back as follows:

Start -> Run -> GPEDIT.MSC -> Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Local Policy -> User Rights -> Delete "Reject" Reject from Network Access this computer "guest from GUEST users.
