Session Notification Protocol (SAP) - Network Code

The session notification protocol SAP is a notification protocol, mainly providing multicast multimedia conferencing ads and other multicast sessions, and transmits related session settings for future participants.

The SAP broadcaster sends a notification packet to the multicast address and port. The notification transmission range is the same as the session range to ensure that the notification receiver becomes a potential session receiver. This is also important for the scalability of the protocol, that is, ensuring that the local session notification is transmitted locally.

SAP listeners know the multicast range of the notification by multicast range area notification protocol (or other protocol) and listen to the notification on the SAP address and ports within those ranges. Thus, the listener will eventually know all session notifications and allow those sessions to join the multicast range.
