2. Create an empty database on SQL Server

b. Establish a special user for the ClearQuest primary database. 3. Using Maintenance Tool to establish CQ's primary database
Run the ClearQuest Maintenance Tool, select "Connection -> New" from the menu to create a ClearQuestory, which is saved to save your defined solutions. As shown in Figure 1-4:

Next we need to establish a ClearQuest server on the SQLServer 2000 server. Of course, if you choose the Access database to press Enter directly. When you select SQLServer in Vendor: (see Figure 1-5), information settings for connecting to the SQLServer server will appear. The specific settings are shown in Figure 1-6:

You can change the naming of the CQ main database by right-click, we can name it: MyTest.

Last time I had a netizen asked me: "HTTP, when using read-only user, I can't connect to the database." At that time, I tried a variety of ways and carefully checked the relevant information and could only be connected through its DB Owner. If you use only [read] permissions, you will fail, do you know how other people solve this problem? Some people know that they will not know everyone. :) But there is no great impact during the use of the use, if it is in the previous version of 2002.05, there will be some security vulnerabilities when using, because the permissions of DB Owner will be too large. Oh, things are people. Next, CQ Maintenance Tool will display the process of establishing a CQ primary database, and click OK as prompted. The primary database that CQ from here is high. Next we will do how to build various programs in ClearQuest Designer.
4. Use CQ Designer to build various programs (Schema)
When you run ClearQuest Designer, you will appear. Which CQ main database will be selected, we choose to build above: mytest. Here, we note that our instructions are CQ 2002.05, the previous version interface is not like this. Figure 1-7:

When you run the ClearQuest Designer for the first time, use the user to: the admin password to: empty, login into the ClearQuest Designer. This user is different from the user of the primary database. The user in Designer is used to use your design. The user needs to be created by Designer's own user manager. And assign it related database access. When you create a database in Designer, the premise is that you must build an empty database on SQL Server, at the same time Built a separate DB Owner in this library. Then can then run the Designer for establishing the scheme. When entering CQ Designer, the first pop-up form is the eight application solutions you provide in CQ. You can choose from your own application The right solution, of course, you can completely customize a solution, the key is to see your understanding of CQ. I suggest that you have learned the solution it provides, and then customize a fully compliant application. Because the schemes provided in CQ are generally combined with other products of Rational, many functions we temporarily can't use, there is no need to spend great efforts to understand it, and the road will go step by step. Here we use the "Defect Tracking" program provided by CQ to create a self-plan step. Figure 1-8:

After entering CQ Designer, the form of Figure 1-8 will be canceled. Then select the "Database New Database" item on the main menu of CQ Designer. The form shown in Fig. 9 will appear, which is the first step in establishing a schedule. Logical Database Name in this form is a logical library for CQ Designer manages various scenarios, using these logic libraries in CQ Designer to delete, resume delete and update. The logic library here is not you SQL Server established table.

After clicking [Next], enter the second step of establishing the schedule; will appear to connect the empty table you have established in SQLSERVER, as shown in Figure 1-10, where there is a note of the following:
1. The user who connects the database must be the DB Owner of the empty table, and other users with read / write are still unsuccessful. Reason, I am told above, waiting. ()
2. At the end, please select Production Database, which represents this scenario for practical applications, not to test the test scheme ---- Test Database. We will tell later in the test plan library.

Click [Next] on Figure 10 to enter the third step of establishing the schema library, that is, custom timeout settings for the scheme. Under normal circumstances, it can be default. Click [Next] to establish the final step in the Solution Library, select the "Defect Tracking" schema we want to create in the schema template provided by the CQ. As shown in Figure 1-11:

Finally click the [Finish] button, take a cup of hot tea, etc., if everything will appear smoothly, the Database Was Created SuccessFully dialog box. Congratulations, you have succeeded!
To make further verification, you can do it through the ClearQuest client, and click ClearQUSET. In the first dialog that appears, select the scheme you just established, and use the administrator to enter it.
The Rational ClearQuest function is very powerful, there is a chance to have more exchanges, write more and better use experience, I hope that this will play the role of throwing jade. At the same time, I hope to communicate with you.
Finally, for security, remind you to back up your CQ primary database with each program database in time.
