I saw someone asking today, so I wrote a simple tutorial, using this method to make a lot of effect. Do use with Photoshop, the steps are simple, mainly using channels and pattern fills:
1. Newly built a 4 × 4 file, background transparency, populate the diagonal to white: 2, then Ctrl a all select, edit> define paratern (definition pattern), this file can be turned off, no saving : 3, new documentation, as follows: 4, switch to "Channel" panel, create a new Channel, Ctrl a all selected, then edit> Fill, select the newly built PARTERN (pattern Filled: 5, create a new layer, put the newly built channel load (drag the channel to the circle below), then Edit> Fill (filled), populate 40% White (white), such as Figure: 6, after deselect, the effect has been completed: 7, can also replace the color of the following layer as other effects:
