First, a reasonable planning hard drive, store files in different logical partitions by classification.
Now the hard disk is very large, dozens of GB, in order to facilitate management, need to be partitioned. For example, 40GB hard drive can be divided into 4 districts, namely:
1, system area. Install the operating system and various applications. Why is it to put the application software with the operating system? For a while, I found that there are many people like to separate the application software and operating system to different districts. In fact, this is not reasonable, because the system crashes to reload, the installed application software is also followed, the skin does not deprecate, the hair is attached? And when installing the application software, the installation path is default the system area: / program files / xxx, if it is installed in other partitions, also modify the path, more trouble. Still being installed in the same area, one loss, if the system crashes, it is necessary to reload, you can quickly format this partition, completely cleans it, and provide a clean environment for the new system.
The system area should not be set too small because the operating system and various applications are installed, the cache file is also stored here, and there will be many temporary file generation when the system is running, so there must be sufficient space, otherwise the system affects the system Normal operation, or slow speed. The system zone can allocate at least 10G space. In fact, 10G space is not very big. Now a operating system is almost 1G, plus a variety of software, games, almost 6,7g.
2, software area. Store all kinds of common software, even include the installation disc of the operating system. It is necessary to copy the installation disk of the operating system to the hard disk, because sometimes add some parts (for example, IIS) to use the system mounting disk, or if you need to reload the operating system, it is also used, and the speed is also more than the CD. Install is fast.
3, the data area. Store various information, text, images, animations, music, small movies, and so on. These materials are also divided into different files, and they are made into a private e-library. Therefore, this partition can be slightly larger.
4, work area. Store your own hard work creation. For example, software code, text materials, financial statements, pictures, flash works, and more. Therefore, this area is the most valuable place for the entire computer, you should be careful.
The benefits of doing this are obvious, data division, four partitions, and the order is well.
Second, the system area should not store valuable files. Since it is the system area, let the system you have alive here alone, we will never have to access it, just a few months or half year, you can organize the hard disk fragment of this area. As mentioned earlier, you can format the entire logical disk when you reload it. If there is a more important file here, you may be omission because of negligence, and repentance is late. By default, "My Documents" is to store the same district with the operating system. But "My Documents" usually have many valuable documents, such as IE browser's favorites, Outlook inbox, and more. Therefore, it is necessary to move. The method is: Mouse right-click "My Document", in the pop-up window, select "Target Folder - Mobile", transfer "My Document" to other partitions.
Third, set a temporary folder under each partition root directory.
Usually we will always come into contact with many files, online download, colleagues pass, etc. Send some files to others, and after this compressed package is sent, it will be more. In short, this temporary file is a lot. If you are free, you will be easy to confusion, you don't know what you need, even if you want to clean it, you are also awkward. The solution is that each partition root directory sets a folder, specifically used to store these temporary files, regularly clean up, you can guarantee that the situation will not be out of control.
