The following information from the TortoiseCVS help, I believe that the CVS server should be universal: this Dialog Indicates WHETHER or Not Each File Has Changed In Cvs OR on the local pc, use finLowing Single-Letter Codes:
CThe file has changed both in CVS and locally. TortoiseCVS attempted to merge both sets of changes into the local copy, but could not (probably because both changes were made to the same part of the file). For more information, see Resolving Conflicts file A change in CVS servers and locally. The CVS tool attempts to combine changes in both sides in a local file, but cannot complete the merge (because the changes in both sides occur in the same paragraph), the tool cannot resolve conflicts.
Mthe File Has Only Changed on The Local Pc. TortoiseCvs Will NOT CHANGE The Local Copy. The file only changes locally, the CVS tool does not change the local file.
PTHE File Has Changd In CVS, And TortoiseCvs Has Updated The Local Copy To Match CVS server changes, the CVS tool will be updated to a local version.
Uthe File EXISTS IN CVS, But Not On The Local Machine. TortoiseCvs Will Create A Copy On The Local Pc. File exists on the CVS server, but the local machine does not exist. The CVS tool will create a COPY on the local machine.
