Tan Xiaobo (US) Joey / Compiling Beijing "First Impression" is very good: Every foreigner who has been there will be shocked today, countless new buildings, everywhere is a spacious street. Urban health status is also constantly improving. Those Americans who have been in Beijing will also be shocked when they see Beijing, which is very different from the Beijing heard in the past. But they walked down the taxi and walked in the street, they usually hope, because there is still Chinese people spitting in the street. Maybe you can't guess, see a small dirty saliva on the ground, what is thinking about what foreigners think, I will feel nausea. Especially when someone is walking in front of you, it is unfained to spit a somathere. It is winter, and the consequences of spitting are more serious. When you walk, you can see the spit distributed on the brids on the road and pedestrian crossing, the only thing to do is to avoid it carefully. I didn't have in China during the SARS period, but many friends said that the Chinese government has taken very severe measures to limit the spitting. But why is this bad habitle after the peak of fearful disaster? Whether in the world or China's local tourist scenic spots, such as "please don't spit anywhere", "Please don't loudly" warning slogans are only written in Chinese. The same is true in Western countries. Because most foreigners will do this, the Chinese will. In China, many identifications are translated into English, but the above two such things will usually do. Why only use Chinese instead of other languages? One possible reason is that China's rapid development economy allows more people to go out of the country, and ultimately let the Chinese identity such as "Do not spit" in the world. Come to Beijing, whether it is travel, work or learning, inevitably use public toilet. But to achieve a high world standard, Beijing's public toilet has also had a long way to go. Even in some of the most famous scenic spots, such as the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace, there is only a toilet of odor. Sometimes there is no water and soap to wash your hands in the toilet. The most typical phenomenon is usually no toilet paper, and there is no door to protect privacy. Once, I walked into a paid toilet in Beijing's most prosperous Third Ring Road. The smell made me almost faint, and there was no liquid, water, toilet paper, soap on the ground. In an international metropolis, a city that is about to hold an Olympic Games, I am going to pay for such toilets. In the United States, if you have to pay, this means you can enjoy a variety of services, if you are not satisfied with the service, there is a complaint. In addition, the American public toilet is free, you don't have anything to go to the toilet, because there is water, soap and toilet paper. The Chinese government has begun to promote health habits in the form of public service advertisements, and there have been related commercial advertisements on TV. The problem is that the Chinese are not listening. If you don't listen now, I worried that in 2008, many foreigners will leave bad impresses in China, and these are from some bad habits.
