Web project requirements
If you want to create a web project on this computer, you must first install additional components. To create a web project, you must install and configure Internet Information Services (IIS) and FrontPage Server Extensions (FPSE). However, you can also create a web project on remote computers of these components installed and configured. Note: Before installing the components listed below, it is recommended that you printed this page or add a bookmark to this page. This page does not automatically display after the computer is restarted.
1. Protect your computer installation security

1. Download the latest security update file from http://www.microsoft.com/china/msdn/vstudio/security/ and saved to your desktop.
Note: Do not install security updates now. You will manually apply these security updates in later instructions. If you have any questions, please ask the system administrator.
2. Prepare your Windows operating system CD / DVD.
Note: If you install the Windows operating system over the network, you don't have a ready-made Windows operating system CD / DVD, please contact your system administrator.
3. Convert FAT16 or FAT32 file system to NTFS. Installation requirements use NTFS on Windows Server 2003 and later. For other operating systems, it is highly recommended to use NTFS, but it will continue to be installed without doing so.
Note: Run the FrontPage server extension on the FAT file system will make any anonymous users can create on your web server. For additional information about the conversion file system, go to http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/prodtechnol/winntas/tips/techrep/filesyst.asp#k.
4. Disconnect your computer with all network connections.
Note: If you continue to open, your computer may be infringed by the virus between the installation component and the latest security update.
5. Now remove the Visual Studio CD / DVD from your computer.

Install Internet Information Services on Windows 2000
1. On the Start menu, select Run.
2. In the Open dialog box, type AppWiz.cpl, then click OK to open the Add / Remove Programs dialog box; you can also access this dialog from the Control Panel.
3. In the Add / Remove Programs dialog box, select Add / Remove Windows Components on the left of the dialog.
4. In the Windows Component Wizard, select Internet Information Services (IIS).
5. Select "Next" to start installing IIS.
6. After the installation is complete, click Finish.
7. Close the Add / Remove Programs dialog. Install Internet Information Services on Windows XP
8. On the Start menu, select "Run".
9. In the Open dialog, type appWiz.cpl, and then click OK to open the Add / Remove Programs dialog box; you can also access this dialog from the Control Panel.
10. In the Add / Remove Programs dialog box, select Add / Remove Windows Components on the left side of the dialog.
11. In the Windows Component Wizard, select Internet Information Services (IIS).
12. Select "Next" to start installing IIS.
13. After the installation is complete, click Finish.
14. Close the Add / Remove Programs dialog.
Install Internet Information Services on Windows Server 2003
15. On the Start menu, click Run.
16. Type AppWiz.cpl in the Open dialog, and then click OK, the Add or Remove Programs dialog box appears; you can also access this dialog from the Control Panel.
17. Click Add / Delete Windows Components, which will appear.
18. Check the "Application Server" check box in the Component option, and then click Details. Note: If you do not convert the drive to NTFS, warning information will occur. For more information, please refer to the "Protective Computer Installation Security" section.
19. Select the "ASP .NET" checkbox in the Application Server dialog box. Note: Do not click OK.
20. Check the "Internet Information Service (IIS)" check box, and then click Details.
21. Select the FrontPage 2002 Server Extension check box in the Internet Information Services (IIS) dialog box, and then click OK.
22. Click OK in the Application Server dialog.
23. Click Next to install the desired components in the Windows Component Wizard. Note: - You need to prepare Windows Server 2003 CD.
24. After the installation is complete, click Finish.
25. Close the Add / Remove Programs dialog.
26. Follow the instructions in the "Configure the FrontPage Server Extension (FPSE)" below.
3. Install FrontPage Server Extensions (FPSE) Install FrontPage Server Extensions on Windows 2000
1. On the Start menu, select Run.
2. In the Open dialog, type AppWiz.cpl, then click OK to open the Add / Remove Programs dialog.
3. In the Add / Remove Programs dialog box, select Add / Remove Windows Components on the left of the dialog.
4. In the Windows Component Wizard, select Internet Information Services (IIS).
5. If "Internet Information Service (IIS)" is selected, select Details.
6. If there is no "FrontPage 2000 Server Extension", check this check box.
7. Click OK to close the Internet Information Services (IIS) dialog.
8. Select "Next" to start installing.
9. After the installation is complete, click Finish to close the Windows Component Wizard.

10. On the Start menu, select "Run".
11. In the Open dialog, type AppWiz.cpl, and then click OK to open the Add / Remove Programs dialog.
12. In the Add / Remove Programs dialog box, select Add / Remove Windows Components on the left side of the dialog.
13. In the Windows Component Wizard, select Internet Information Services (IIS).
14. If "Internet Information Service (IIS)" is selected, select Details.
15. If you haven't selected "FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions", select this check box.
16. Click OK to close the Internet Information Services (IIS) dialog.
17. Select "Next" to start installing.
18. After the installation is complete, click Finish to close the Windows Component Wizard.

19. On the Start menu, click Run.
20. Type AppWiz.cpl in the Open dialog, click OK, which will appear "Add or Remove Programs" dialog box; you can also access this dialog from the Control Panel. 21. Click Add / Remove Windows Components, which will appear. "WINDOWS Component Wizard.
22. Select the "Application Server" checkbox in the Component option, and then click Details. Note: If you do not convert the drive to NTFS, warning information will occur. For more information, please refer to the "Protective Computer Installation Security" section.
23. Select the "ASP .NET" checkbox in the Application Server dialog. Note: Do not click OK.
24. Select the Internet Information Services (IIS) check box, and then click Details.
25. Select the FrontPage 2002 Server Extension check box in the Internet Information Services (IIS) dialog box, and then click OK.
26. Click OK in the Application Server dialog.
27. Click Next in the Windows Component Wizard, which will install the required components. Note: - You need to prepare Windows Server 2003 CD.
28. After the installation is complete, click Finish.
29. Close the Add / Remove Programs dialog.
30. Follow the instructions in "Configure the FrontPage Server Extension (FPSE)" below.
4. Configure FrontPage Server Extensions (FPSE)
Configure FrontPage Server Extensions on Windows 2000
1. On the Start menu, select Run.
2. In the Open dialog box, type CompMgmt.msc / S, and then click OK to open the Computer Management dialog.
3. In the Computer Management dialog, expand Services and Applications.
4. Under Services and Applications, expand "Internet Information Services".
5. Right-click on the Default Web Site, select All Tasks, and select Configure Server Extensions.
Note: If you miss the Configure Server Extension menu command, you can jump to the installation security update below. If there is no "Configure Server Extension" menu command, it indicates that the FrontPage server extension is installed and configured.
6. Select "Next" on the first page of the Server Extension Configuration Wizard.
7. Select "Yes" in the Warning dialog.
8. For configuration mail server settings, select No "and select" Next ". 9. Select "Finish".

10. On the Start menu, select "Run".
11. In the Open dialog box, type CompMgmt.msc / S, and then click OK to open the Computer Management dialog.

26. Configure the web page to ensure that the administrator's username is correct, and then click Submit.
Note: If you miss the Configure Server Extension menu command, you can jump to the installation security update below. If there is no "Configure Server Extension" menu command, it indicates that the FrontPage server extension is installed and configured.
5. Install security update
Run from your desktop in step 1 "Download Security Update" downloads the security update.
6. Connect to the network
If you interrupt the network connection in step 2 "Disconnect", you can securely reconnect to the network after application security update.
7. Return to the installer
You can now return to the installer. Please reinsert the CD1 or DVD of the Visual Studio product you are installing and run the installer.
