TACACS: Terminal Access Controller Access Control System - Network Code

xiaoxiao2021-03-06  42

Terminal Access Controller Access Control System (TACACS) provides access control services for routers, network access controllers, and other network processing devices through one or more center servers. TACACS supports independent authentication, authorization and accounting.

TACACS allows the client to have its own username and password, and send query instructions to the TACACS authentication server (also known as TACACS daemon or TACACSD). Normally, the server runs on the host program. The host returns a response to the receiving / reject request, and then determines whether the TIP is allowed to access according to the response type. During the above process, the determination processing takes "Opened Up" and the corresponding algorithm and data depend on the object running TACACS Daemon. In addition, the TACACS extension protocol supports more types of authentication requests and response code.
