2) SUS composition
Compose from the server side and client:
A) server side
Running on Win2K or Win2003, you can access the Internet directly.
B) client
Already included in Win2KSP3 , WinXPSP1 and WIN2003,

Win2KSP1 and below are upgraded to SP2,
Win98, WinMe, Winnt automatic update is not supported.
3) System requirements for SUS server

C) 6GB DISK, depending on the type of language version, in fact, 1GB can
D) Win2KSP2 , NTFS partition
E) IE5.5

4) SUS client requirements and setting methods
Client requirements:
A) Win2KSP2, need to manually install the client
B) Win2ksp3 , already contains clients
C) WinXPSP1 , already contains clients

Client setting mode:

5) How to judge SUS successfully deployed
A) View the Windows Update.log file under the% systemroot% directory, there should be Success's words, querying ... from% yourSusserver%,

B) View% yourSusserver% of the IIS log, the default path should see the information of the relevant 200 flags under the% Windir% / System32 / LogFiles / W3SVCX. c) After the update is completed, a record will be left in the Event Viewer.

The Bits (Background Intelligent Transfer Service) service is installed.
The log record is only the information about the update that needs to be installed. It does not mean that it will be updated immediately.
