2, MES development status

Mes as a product of production form, most of which originate from the internal needs of the factory, the traditional MES (TRAS, T-MES) is developing from the 70s of the sporadic intercommunications application, accumulating

After quite experience, some professional companies engaged in MES development, and their system has also developed considerable mature standards. It is usually developed for specific production types, or specific functional requirements, and has a certain market share (such as the US Consilium, Canada's Promise is a well-known manufacturer of IC factory MES). . In general, T-MES can be roughly divided into two categories: Point MES (Point MES) and integrated MES systems (Integrated MES). Dedicated MES refers to a separate application system developed to solve a particular area, such as workshop maintenance, production scheduling, or SCADA. The integrated MES is designed for a particular industry such as aviation, assembly, semiconductor, food and health, etc., has certain versatility. And gradually enhance the integration capability of the upper transaction and the lower real-time control system.

Since the factory may purchase the MES module that suits you from different software suppliers, or a part of the existing system (Legacy System) is part of the MES function, the results have caused many factories that MES systems that are actually a hodgepodge. Each system has its own processing logic, database, data model, and communication mechanism. Also because MES applications often have systems to meet key tasks, the system is difficult to upgrade with technology updates. In order to achieve integration with external systems, API technology, OLAP technology, and corresponding communication mechanisms are often adopted, and these techniques are in a sense, and they are also the core part of MES. Among them, the way the external application system is called and inserts the use of the API, and the EDI technology and the external environment are used to exchange data exchange. The technology model of the current MES is shown in Figure 5.

Although dedicated MES provides the best performance for a particular environment, it is often difficult to integrate with other applications, integrated MES-comparable Mes into a big step, with some advantages, such as: a single logical database, the internal system has Good integration, unified data model, etc. However, its entire system reconstruction performance is weak, it is difficult to perform functional configuration and dynamic changes with changes in business processes. In order to solve the shortcomings of T-MES, it can be integrated with MES (Integratable Mes, I-MES) to gradually become a hotspot for people.

Figure 5 Current MES Technology Model 3 Advantage and development. By adopting an efficient basic framework, it has greatly enhanced the integration and adaptability of the system, and can meet the processing of key things. The Niiip / Smart Association represents a distributed object and information exchange model (Figure 6) proposed in the entire MES application area (Figure 6) represents the technical model of the development MES. As can be seen from the model, in an object-oriented application, each object uses its own function and method to operate data, and complete the various functions of the system. Other functions such as workflow management, product data management, knowledge management, etc. are separated from functional logic. By object requesting agent (ORB), such as CORBA, COM / DCOM), the objects of different software vendors are exchanged with each other and perform interoperability. The MES technology model described by Niiip / Smart is ideal for future MES commercial application features, and a distributed object framework allows various data and functional logic to become more tight. Moreover, by using a compact and concise object, the system model can be easily defined without destroying the relationship. These features make the MES cost of the implementation, while having good adaptability and flexibility. With the development of computer technology, more and more MES, ERP, control systems, product data management, supply chain management, and customer relationship management are all written code in the way. As long as they abide by the unified ORB, no matter which developer they can provide, seamlessly integrate. Legacy System As long as the package can be encapsulated according to the correct method, you can also realize the system's instinct. The collaborative work of distributed MES can be effectively achieved by introducing intelligent agent (Agent) to meet the requirements of MES applications in virtual enterprises. Thereby achieving agility manufacturing modes for information systems, both systematic reconstructed, reusable and scalable (3R) characteristics. It is clear that the architecture of manufacturing information systems is the most important and most basic. The quality of the architecture is directly related to the agility of the entire system. There is currently more affected CORBA-based Niiip-Smart architecture and COM / DCO-oriented Windows DNA. The two have the advantages, and the former has an advantage in cross-platform and real-time tasks, and the latter has a wide range of application basis. No matter which architecture, MES needs to solve the following key issues: (1) Design object-oriented MES model to support application integration. (2) Design distributed MES object network to support real-time activities. (3) Design MES workflow model to support various control strategies to strengthen process management. (4) Design knowledge-based rules to support managing MES-based products. (5) Integrate CORBA / STEP to achieve seamless integration with PDM. (6) Design MES intelligent agent to support MES applications in virtual enterprises. The development of information technology and the competitive demand for manufacturing enterprises will drive the continuous advancement of MES application technology. From the above analysis, the total development trend of MES can be summarized as the following: Integratability, Adaptability, Extensibility, and Reliability. Figure 6 Development MES Technology Model 4, Conclusion Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software bridges the interval between the enterprise plan layer and the production workshop process control system, is a bond that is integrated with the manufacturing process information.
