Enterprise version:
The operating system requires Windows NT Server 4.0, NT Server 4.0 Enterprise, Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Advanced Server, and Windows 2000 Data Center Server. (All versions need to install IE5.0 or later version of the browser)
Standard Edition:
The operating system requires Windows NT Server 4.0, Windows 2000 Server, Microsoft Windows NT Server Enterprise, Windows 2000 Advanced Server, and Windows 2000 Data Center Server.
Personal version:
Operating system requires Windows Me, Windows 98, Windows NT Workstation 4.0, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows NT Server 4.0, Windows 2000 Server, and all higher Windows operating systems.
2 SQL Server2000 installation:
SQL2000 is divided into three versions: Enterprise, Standard Edition and Personal Edition. These three versions of installation are basically different. The following is as an example with the SQL2000 Enterprise Edition. The installation steps are as follows:
Step 1: After putting the SQL2000 installation disk in the CD-ROM drive, the system will automatically run a setup. If the disc does not start the installer, you can manually run the Autorun.exe file to perform the installer.
Step 2: In the first interface of the installer: "Install SQL 2000 Server Components", "Prerequisites for Installing SQL 2000 Server", "Browse Installation / Upgrade Help", "Read Posting Notes and Access our web Site. Select the "Install SQL 2000 Server Components" option. "
Step 3: Go to the next installation option, with "Install Database Server", "Install Analysis Service", "Installing English Query", select the Install Database Server option.
Step 4: Go to the next installation interface, one setting interface to which computer is installed after selecting the service in the next step, you can use the default option local computer, then click Next.
Step 5: Go to the installation option interface, use the Default Options to "create a new SQL Server instance", or install "Client Tool", then click Next.
Step 6: Enter the company name and the user name will enter a installation defined interface in the future, use the Default Options "Server and Client Tool", select Next.
Step 7: Go to the Installation Type Selection interface and use the default option "Typical Installation". Then choose the next step.
Step 8: Enter the server account configuration interface, the choice and configuration of the account is a very important step because it determines the startup account of SQL Server and access account. Here is the default system settings. The account mode is used in the default system settings: SQL Server service is automatically launched using the same account for each server. When selecting a service account, you can choose to use a local account or choose a domain user account. For convenience of configuration, users choose to "Use" local system accounts, and then proceed.
Step 9: Enter the authentication mode interface, when choosing the identity mode, for convenience of configuration, it is recommended that users use "mixed mode". If the SA password entered below, please be sure, if you forget, you will not be able to log in to the service, the data will not be used, of course, the user may not set a password.
