The company's Chinese branch has been implemented and improved, quality management in accordance with CMM5 standards. I also participated in the company's PCMM-5 and CMMI-5 reviews as one of the participants, and some awareness of CMM5 and project management.

CMMI has been integrated with SW-CMM, which is good for software companies and software projects. Implementation, understanding, the process of executing CMMI-5 is also the process of implementation, understanding, and execution of software project management. Their essence is how to better manage the software project, but CMMI's "ambition" is bigger. CMM5 emphasizes that the process continues to improve, emphasizes an organization's ability; project management is only for the project itself. I tried to do comparison with the Project Management Processes in CMMI's KPA and PMBOK, just want to explain "Project Management" in CMMI-5.

In PMBOK, Project Management Processes can be seen from two different perspectives: From the perspective of Process Groups, project management can be divided into 5 Phases - Initiating, Planning, Executing, Controlling, Closing, from the perspective of Knowledge Areas Management Including these aspects - Interation MGNT, Scope MGNT, TIME MGNT, COST MGNT, Quality MGNT, Human Resource MGNT, Commocation MGNT, Risk MGNT, Procurement Mgnt. All PM's content is from these 2 angles, with one 2 dimension tables can clearly understand the Scope of the project management. As shown below: I also listed all the KPA of CMMI first, and I can clearly know how CMMI is the process of Map PM. All KPAs in CMMI are as follows:

Level 2 Requirements Management Project Monitoring & Control Project Planning Configuration Management Measurement and Analysis Process & Product Quality Assurance Supplier Agreement Management Level 3 Organisational Environment For Integration Organisational Process Definition Organisational Process Focus Organisational Training Product Integration Decision Analysis & Resolution Integrated Project Management Integrated Teaming Requirements Development Risk Management Technical Solution Verification Validation

Level 4 Quantitative Project Management Organisational Process Performance

Level 5 Causal Analysis & Resolution Organisational INNOVATION & DEPLOYMENT

In fact, the KPA of CMMI-3 has basically covered all PROJECT Management Process mentioned in PMBOK, and the KPA of CMMI-4 is a better measure of existing projects (management) levels, CMMI-5 KPA is based on quantitative management to analyze historical data (management) to optimize projects (managed), and increase their organization's projects (management) capabilities.
