Windows Server 2003 is used by the server, and this earth is known. But there are many people who have a lot of hangups like to install, even if it is mainly used to play games (just like 俺).
By the following settings can make Windows Server 2003 feel similar to XP, save some of the troubles brought by us, otherwise, you will use the pain.
I used two weeks, I feel that Windows Server 2003 stability is indeed better than XP.
Windows Server 2003 ENT (English), System Settings:
■ Disable boot CTRL Alt Del: Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Local Security Policy -> Local Policy -> Security Options -> Interactive Logon: Do Not Require Ctrl Alt DEL -> Set to Enabled.
■ Should be shut down when shutdown occurs Select Page: Start -> Run -> GPEDIT.MSC -> Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Display Shutdown Event Tracker -> Set to disable.
■ Enable the sound card: After the system is installed, the sound card is disabled, so set it in the taskbar display after the control panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices -> is enabled.
■ Open DirectX D3D: Desktop -> Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Troubleshoot -> Hardware Acceleration -> Set to "Full". (Otherwise, how to play quake ~~~)
■ Open DirectX's DirectDraw: If you don't have DirectDraw, the particles will be thick when "playing the video file full screen". The setting method is: start -> run -> dxdiag.exe, set DirectDraw to enabled at the Display page.
■ Enable theme (also the overall replacement of the interface style): By default, theme is prohibited, only Win2000 style, the blue style of XP will not make you chose. Setting method is: Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services -> Themes -> Set to Automatic
■ Change "Execution Settings": By default, Windows Server 2003 settings are considered for the server, so its "performance performance" is very good, but "appearance performance" is ignored, such as right click on the desktop, choose "New", "New Type" list is to wait for n seconds to play. The setting method is: My Computer-> Properties -> Advanced -> The first settings, select the second "Adjust for Best Appearance" in the "Visual Effect" page, then change the two options in the "Advanced" page "Programs".
